iPhone and iPad
On Windows, install Apple Devices or iTunes from the Microsoft Store. macOS already includes what CrocProbe needs. On the phone, trust the computer, stay unlocked, and enable Web Inspector under Settings > Apps > Safari > Advanced.
Download CrocProbe
The inspector is free and requires no account or payment. On Windows, CrocProbe installs per user and needs no administrator rights. On macOS, it is a notarized disk image for Apple silicon running macOS 13 or later.
Verified on iOS 27 with CrocProbe 1.0.9 on a physical iPhone, from Windows and from Apple silicon macOS, on 16 September 2026.
Verify the download
Windows shows Steeltype LLC as the publisher, and macOS opens the app after its notarization check. You can also compare the file with the SHA-256 checksum listed above.
On a Windows PC that has never run CrocProbe, Microsoft Defender SmartScreen may show Windows protected your PC before the installer starts. Choose More info, check that the publisher reads Steeltype LLC, then Run anyway. The warning is Microsoft's reputation check for new software; it stops on its own as installs accumulate, and the installer's signature is what the publisher line proves.

Install the official Android SDK Platform Tools. Enable Developer options and USB debugging, then accept the prompt on the phone.
Your first inspection: Windows + iPhone.

Let's inspect a Safari page on a real iPhone, using CrocProbe on Windows.
First, install Apple Devices or iTunes. Connect the phone by USB, unlock it, and complete Trust This Computer.
On the iPhone, open Settings, Apps, Safari, Advanced. Turn on Web Inspector. Then leave Safari open on the page you want to inspect.
In CrocProbe, open Setup. Follow the next step shown until your phone and its Safari tab are available.
Choose the page under your iPhone in the sidebar. The live preview shows the page running on that phone.
Click a card in the preview to inspect its styles and geometry. Scrolling the preview scrolls the real page.
