Check the fit

Inspect Safari on a physical iPhone or iPad, and Chrome or Vanadium on Android, over a USB data cable. DOM, styles, console, network, and screenshots are free, with no account or session timer.

A license adds navigation, reloads, JavaScript, live style changes, and agent pairing. CrocProbe inspects web content; native-app debugging and a hosted device fleet are outside its scope.

Prepare the computer and phone

Windows 10+ uses a signed per-user installer. Apple silicon with macOS 13+ uses a signed, notarized disk image. Downloads include SHA-256 checksums.

For iPhone on Windows, install Apple Devices or iTunes separately. Enable Web Inspector, trust the computer, and keep Safari visible on an unlocked phone. Android needs separately installed ADB and USB debugging authorization.

Choose the license

Pass: $29. One named user, 90 days from issuance, no renewal. Personal: $99 once. An individual or an organisation with no more than five total employees and contractors.

Business: $149 per seat, or five for $599. Larger organisations buy a seat for each paid-feature user. A 100-person company with five users needs five seats. Company size has no upper limit.

Personal and Business cover CrocProbe 1.x and its updates. Later major versions require a separate purchase; 1.x holders will be offered a 2.0 upgrade price.

Install and assign seats

Each authorised user can install on any number of computers they personally use. A Business seat can be reassigned when its previous user stops using CrocProbe.

Stripe handles payment and provides an itemised invoice. Your activation code and license file arrive by email. Code redemption needs internet access; the file installs and verifies offline.

Control agent access

Observe reads page context. Interact permits connection startup, navigation, and reloads. Modify permits JavaScript and live style changes. Agent activity remains visible.

Access starts at Observe when CrocProbe opens. Lower permission to Observe to retain read access; revoke the invite to disconnect. A hosted model may receive page content, screenshots, and browser evidence. Review that provider's policy before sharing.

Review data and support

CrocProbe asks before enabling launch-time update checks. Activation sends the code to the license service. Website analytics is optional and uses Steeltype's AWS account; change the choice in the footer. Server logs, including allowed website events, are retained for up to 90 days. The site uses no cookies, advertising trackers, or cross-page visitor IDs. Purchase and support records support fulfilment and assistance.

A full refund is available within 30 days of purchase, for any reason, once per customer. Email support@steeltype.io. Updates and support are discretionary unless separately agreed in writing.
